SELLING YOUR BUSINESS · WHAT TO EXPECT

From first conversation to handoff — a straight process, no surprises.

You've spent years building something people rely on. When you're ready to talk about what's next, here's exactly how it goes — the audit, the offer, and the handoff — so you always know where you stand.

Walk me through itStart a private conversation
Always confidential
Your team, customers and competitors hear nothing until you decide they should.
No obligation
The audit and offer cost you nothing. Walk away at any point, no hard feelings.
You talk to owners
Every conversation is with a founder — never a broker or a sales team.
THE PROCESS

Three phases. One clear path.

Most owners go from first handshake to closed in about 60 days. Here's the shape of it before we dig into each step.

011–2 WEEKS

The Audit

We get to know your business, your crew and your books — the honest picture, both directions.

02DAYS, NOT MONTHS

The Offer

A fair, plain-English number and structure — how we got there, with nothing hidden.

0390-DAY TRANSITION

The Handoff

A shift change, not a fire sale. We keep your people, your name and your standard.

01
PHASE ONE · 1–2 WEEKS

The Audit

Before anyone talks price, we learn the business the way we'd size up a scene — carefully, and from every angle. It starts with a conversation and a signed NDA, then a working session with you.

WHAT WE'LL NEED FROM YOU
3 years of P&Ls and tax returns, a customer & job overview, and an honest hour or two of your time. That's it — we do the heavy lifting.
WHAT HAPPENS
Intro conversation & NDA. A relaxed conversation about your business and your goals — fully confidential from word one.
The numbers review. We build a clear picture of revenue, margins, recurring work and what drives the business.
The people & operations look. Your crew, your systems, your reputation — we care as much about these as the P&L.
A findings readout. We walk you through what we see — strengths and gaps alike — whether or not we move ahead.
02
PHASE TWO · DAYS, NOT MONTHS

The Offer

If it's a fit, you get a written offer within about a week of the audit — and we sit down and explain every line of it. No games, no pressure, no exploding deadlines.

HOW WE PRICE IT
A fair multiple of real earnings, benchmarked to your trade and market — with the math shown so you can see exactly how we got to the number.
WHAT HAPPENS
A written, itemized offer. Price, terms and structure in plain English — cash at close plus any earn-out or seller note, spelled out.
We walk it through together. You, and any advisor you want in the room. Ask anything; we'd rather over-explain than have you guess.
Letter of intent. When the terms feel right, we sign a simple LOI that sets the price and a clear path to close.
Confirmation diligence & close. A focused 30–45 day check to confirm what we already discussed, then signing. We fund the deal ourselves — no financing contingency.
03
PHASE THREE · 90-DAY TRANSITION

The Handoff

This is the part we take most seriously. Handing over a business is a shift change — the truck keeps rolling and nothing gets dropped. We keep your crew, your name and the way you do things.

YOUR ROLE AFTER CLOSE
Whatever you want it to be — a clean exit, a season of overlap, or a lasting seat. We'll design the transition around your plans, not ours.
WHAT HAPPENS
We tell the team together. On your timeline, in your words. The message is simple: jobs are safe and the mission continues.
Your people stay. Crew, pay and benefits carry over. We invest in tools and training — we don't cut to the bone.
Customers never feel a bump. Same name, same trucks, same contact info. Service continues without a hitch.
We ride along for 90 days. An operator from our team is hands-on through the transition, then stays for the long haul.
STRAIGHT ANSWERS

The questions owners actually ask.

If yours isn't here, ask us directly — we'll give you the same straight answer we'd want.

Will you keep my name and my people?
Yes. Keeping the brand your customers trust and the crew who built it is the whole point — not a nice-to-have.
How long does the whole thing take?
Usually about 60 days from first conversation to close — faster if you're ready, and never rushed if you're not.
Do I have to stay on after the sale?
Only if you want to. Some owners hand us the keys and go; others stay for a season or a seat. Your choice.
Is this confidential? My team doesn't know.
Completely. We sign an NDA up front and nobody hears anything until you decide it's time — together, on your terms.
